Mr. Gould is Of Counsel with Caldwell & Watson specializing in Wills, Trusts, Estates, Probate Administration, Charitable Giving, and Estate Planning, focusing his planning practice on high net worth individuals. Tom has over 30 years of experience in the Estate and Trust industry having worked as a Trust Officer and Estate Planner for four of the largest trust companies in Atlanta, most recently with Citigroup Trust.
Tom works with individuals, their families, and advisors in developing and implementing customized estate plans. Tom utilizes the most advanced estate planning techniques in a variety of family situations, from the most simple to the complex.
Tom is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and an active member of its Fiduciary Law Section. He has served on its Legislative Committee for over 18 years promoting, reviewing, and advising on legislation affecting estates and trusts in Georgia. He has also spoken and written in the estate planning, charitable gifts and tax areas on many occasions. He has been published in Trust and Estates Magazine, presented at the State Bar of Georgia Estate Planning Institute in Athens, Georgia, as well as the Decatur/DeKalb and Savannah Estate Planning Councils, and spoken at many other seminars on estate planning throughout Georgia. Tom is also a member of the Atlanta Estate Planning Council, and the Atlanta Bar Association, and is an active member of the Atlanta Bar Association’s Estate Planning and Probate Section.
Tom serves on the Board of the DeKalb Medical Center Foundation where he is currently the Chair of the Foundation's Finance Committee. He is also an ad hoc member of the Physicians’ Care Clinic Finance Committee in DeKalb County, which gives medical care to the uninsured and underinsured working-class poor. Tom also donates his time to the Atlanta Bar Foundation acting as its “Planned Giving Advisor”. Having received his Certified Financial Planner ™ designation in 2006, he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Financial Planning Association of Georgia and chairs its Professional Liaison Committee. Tom also teaches the Estate Planning section of the CFP® Certification program at the Emory University Center for Lifelong Learning. He is a 1994 graduate of Leadership DeKalb and remains active in the organization through several of its committees.
Tom has two sons. He is married to Diana Evans Berman, who has two daughters.
